I am very grateful to each and every person who makes Cantt Khalsa School what it is today.
Grateful I am to the members of the teaching staff who come to this school with a sparkling energy and enthusiasm to foment like qualities into the budding students while imparting education to them.
Grateful I am to the students who are receptive to the noble virtues being taught to them and who try their best to live up to our expectations as well as those of their parents.
And finally grateful I am to the parents, who confide unto us the custody of their pearls of love and have bestowed upon us the solemn responsibility to build up the future of their children.
I have myself studied from a very good school namely, D.M. Madan Girls' Higher Secondary School, Jamshedpur in 1947, and famous Patna Women's College and Patna College from where I did my M.A. (Phil) and Dy.in. Ed. I had the golden opportunity to meet the father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi when I was only a teenager and was greatly impressed with him. I have also interacted with Late Shri Jai Prakash Narayan, Sarvpalli Radhakrishnan, Acharya Rajneesh (Osho), famous author Mahadevi Verma and many more luminaries. Those were the times of idealism among the students which idealism I have tried to live in my life till date. Having served in this very school as its Principal right from its birth in 1969 till my retirement in 1994, and having served in the management since 1999 till date, this school is my family. It is my life and blood. And I have bestowed on my son, Narinderpal Singh Ruprah, otherwise a busy Advocate, the responsibility to monitor and nourish the anxious minds of youngsters so that their energy is channelized and with them the nation ushers into a happier place to live in. This is also our motto Vidya Vichari taan Paropkaari.
I appreciate the initiative of our Principal Smt. Paramjeet Kaur for accepting every challenge thrown in front of her by Late Sardar Hari Singh Ruprah Sr. Advocate who was the President of the Foundation Society of this School, namely Sikh Education Society, which responsibility, after he passed away, has fallen upon me, and which, I shall fulfill with all my grit.
